Now in its third year MITCA members have so far employed over 30 Apprentices through the scheme which has been constructed and supported in conjunction with the Department for Enterprise and UCM.

Intake starts in the spring of each year with the opening of digital applications via www.employed.im/micta which then leads to multiple interviews in different settings with the employers before potentially being offered a place.

An Apprenticeship is a full-time 2-year employment contract with the employer where you get paid a full salary and other employee benefits. For one day a week during term time, the employer releases you from work to study for a formal qualification at UCM. However, the real value of an Apprenticeship is the real life work experience you are gaining and how this relates to your employability. Almost all Apprentices either stay with their Apprenticeship employer or move into other vacancies within the flourishing ICT on the Isle of Man. This is a great way to springboard your career and is open to entrants from school leavers to people wishing to change careers , there are no qualification or age pre-requisites, just an aptitude for ICT.
